HOOKSETT, N.H. (November 14, 2023)—Polaris Direct, a nationally acclaimed direct marketing services and printing company, achieved their G7 Master Colorspace status through Idealliance, and also received their certification with the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP). “These two certifications position Polaris Direct as a valued and reputable vendor with credentials to work with an enterprise client base,” says Judith Maloy, Director and CEO of Polaris Direct.
For the G7 Master Facility Colorspace Qualification, Colorspace is the third and most stringent level of compliance offered, demonstrating through production of print and proofing, the knowledge, skill, and best practices required to effectively operate the G7 methodology in a graphic communications production environment.
In order to become a Qualified Facility, Polaris Direct underwent a series of processes to calibrate our digital sheet-fed presses, the RICOH C7210X and C9210. They then proved that these presses were capable of delivering G7 proofs by sending the proofs to Idealliance for their official validation and approval.
Polaris Direct’s Director of Operations, John Strand, led this effort, saying, “In the current digital print world, there are so many new technologies and print platforms that a certification like G7 is really a must-have. It is the key to consistency. Without a trusted color management workflow that is based on proven principles, there is no way to measure and maintain consistent and quality printed output.”
The multi-attribute certification from Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP) certifies Polaris Direct’s sustainability best practices, including and beyond regulatory compliance. This certification elevates Polaris Direct into an elite group, recognized by both print buyers and the printing industry.
To become SGP certified, Polaris was required to pass an exacting and independent third-party audit aligning it with the published SGP criteria, including an active sustainability management system (SMS), commitment to U.S. EPA and OSHA regulatory compliance, an indoor air quality evaluation, and adoption of the mandatory best practices developed specifically for the printing industry.
